With the acquisition of TATA AG at the end of 2002, TONDACH Gleinstätten AG further strengthened its leading market position in Hungary and neighbouring central and eastern European countries. Today, TONDACH operates 26 production plants in seven countries, and distribution subsidiaries in two countries.
The management team of TONDACH Hungary will be in charge of TARA AG. TONDACH was successful in its bid against two rival consortia.
Tata is about 60 km from Budapest and can easily be reached via the M1 motorway. The company has an annual production capacity of approximately 25 million roofing tiles.
